  • Rights Respecting Gold Award

    Published 15/10/26

We are thrilled to announce that Foxfield Primary School has achieved the Gold: Rights Respecting accreditation from UNICEF UK's Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA). This recognition is a testament to the school community's commitment to embedding a strong understanding of children's rights. In the summer term, an assessor reviewed our evidence and visited the school as part of the assessment process.

The assessor noted that our "very articulate and passionate children value child rights education, understand how their rights connect to school life, school’s values, and their local and global community." The school's rights-based journey has also positively impacted the learning environment, with children's rights and the UN Sustainable Development Goals explicitly linked to all areas of our work, displays, and across the curriculum to ensure every child receives a rich educational experience.

As a school, we are deeply proud of our caring and nurturing ethos, where dignity and respect create a strong culture of inclusion. The assessor highlighted that children "have a strong sense of fairness and equity," benefiting from an environment where everyone is celebrated, valued, and supported to be the best they can be.

We're also proud to see that our pupils feel empowered. Our confident children know their views are taken seriously, feel listened to, and are actively making a positive difference in the school and the wider world—remaining fully committed to helping realise rights for other children both locally and globally.

  • SuperKind - Social Impact School Award

    Published 06/10/26

Being awarded Social Action School status is a proud milestone that reflects our school community's commitment to driving positive change beyond the school gates. This recognition celebrates a school environment where empathy, responsibility, and active citizenship are woven directly into everyday learning. This work holds profound value for our school. Engaging in social action provides our young people with vital opportunities to build confidence, discover their unique voices, and realise that they have the power to shape the world around them, regardless of their starting point.

    • Giving away old items to help charities, or collecting free resources for those in need.

    • My family and I gathered up our old, unwanted clothes and books and took them to a local charity shop that sells items to help people in need.

    • I sorted through my old toys and games with my parents and donated the ones I don't play with anymore to a local community center or shelter.

    • My family collected spare tinned food or packets from our kitchen cupboard and dropped them off at a local food bank box.

    • I helped my family gather up old towels and blankets we don't use anymore and took them to a local animal rescue center.

       Examples of impact:

    • Because of my actions, we managed to give items to the charity shop, which means local families can buy clothes and books for very little money.

    • My fundraising means that children using the community centre will now have access to toys and board games that they can play with for free.

This award is a continuous promise to keep empowering every child to be a leader. It highlights our dedication to narrowing the opportunity gap by nurturing compassionate, resilient leaders who recognise their own agency and leave our school fully prepared to make a lasting, positive footprint on the world.
