Pupil Voice
An Essential Partnership: Measuring and Driving Stakeholder Engagement at Foxfield
At Foxfield Primary School, embedding a true sense of belonging and community investment is central to our core ethos. We hold the highest aspirations for every child. A critical engine in this continuous journey of reflection and growth is our engagement with The Engagement Platform (TEP). Three times per year, during our Autumn, Spring, and Summer census windows, we actively engage with TEP surveys designed specifically for our children, staff, and parents. The Engagement Platform is the country's leading tool for measuring school stakeholder engagement, helping schools collect and interpret real time data to pinpoint exactly where action is needed, thereby contributing directly to a broader, evidence informed cycle of school improvement.
Our TEP Pupil Survey consistently highlights the immense impact of this collaborative data loop. We are exceptionally proud to share that Foxfield Primary School is consistently recognised as a top performing school nationally, receiving prestigious Top 5% badge across the four major areas: Pupil Enjoyment, Pupil Inclusion, Pupil Effort and Pupil Recommendation. Our headline student engagement score sits 1.4 points above the national average. This reflects the daily commitment of our pupils, employees, and leadership team to building a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where children genuinely feel safe, treated fairly, and ready to thrive. Our children are highly articulate about their learning; they arrive settled, positive, and enthusiastic, with "Monday morning enjoyment" scores at 4.2 points above the national benchmark. Engagement is the absolute heartbeat of our school improvement work, and these scores validate that our deep-rooted relationships are driving exceptional results.

Because of our exceptional track record in nurturing community connected leadership and closing the attainment gap, we were asked by TEP to write and share five case studies showcasing our best practices. These case studies have been published nationally as a roadmap for other educational institutions, allowing us to share our learning and have an impact far beyond our own school gates. The five case studies focus closely on the core pillars of our success:
-
Inclusion - moving beyond labels to create a deep, authentic sense of belonging for every single child.
-
Leadership - developing community-connected leadership that builds unwavering trust and strategic continuity.
-
Workload and Well-being - creating time-focused, sustainable working conditions that empower a stable, highly skilled teaching force.
-
Engagement - harnessing daily presence, food, and relational safety to drive authentic family and stakeholder partnerships.
-
Curriculum and Joy - designing an ambitious global curriculum that creates lasting memories and pure learning joy.
